Annual CASE Leadership in Social Entrepreneurship Award and Lecture 7 to 8 PM Duke University, Fuqua School of Business, Geneen Auditorium
(driving directions)
On April 22, Duke's Center for the Advancement of Social Entrepreneurship (CASE)
will present the 2008
CASE Leadership in Social Entrepreneurship Award to David Bornstein, journalist and
author of How to Change the World: Social Entrepreneurs and the Power of New Ideas, and other award-winning
books. Bornstein has become a leader in sharing the stories and successes of social entrepreneurs through his
writing, drastically increasing the awareness of the field. His books have chronicled the worldwide growth of
the anti-poverty strategy microfinance and the growth of the social sector and of social entrepreneurship as a
field. How to Change the World has become "A bible in the field," according to Nicholas Kristof of The New York
Times. It is a required text for anyone wanting to make a difference in the world. Past CASE award recipients
include Muhammad Yunus, Founder and Managing Director, Grameen Bank, William Strickland, CEO Manchester Bidwell
Corporation and Wendy Kopp, Founder and CEO of Teach for America. Bornstein will give a public talk after the
award presentation. A reception will follow the lecture. This event is free and open to the public. Please
